Cuisine: American
Keyword: Bacon
Servings: 12
- 12 slices thick cut bacon
- ⅓ cup brown sugar packed
- 1½ teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 gram ground decarboxylated cannabis
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil.
Mix the brown sugar, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and decarboxylated cannabis in a bowl.
Spread the bacon strips on the baking sheet and evenly coat both sides with the brown sugar mixture.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the bacon appears to be caramelized and somewhat crispy, flipping halfway through. Serve immediately.
A lot of people like to make candied bacon on a rack to maximize crispiness, but since we're infusing our bacon (and the resulting bacon grease) with cannabis, I make mine right in the sheet so the bacon continues to cook in the infused bacon grease. You'll end up with a slightly chewier but stronger finished product. By the way, you can save that infused bacon grease too cook with later if you like!
I also normally like to include the stems when I infuse butter or oil, but since we're eating everything, it's best to only use leaves and bud in this recipe.
